Scarlet Dreams
by Poetic Rizz
Original poem "Red On Roses" by Martine M. Gibbons
Poetry Now Version
I dive into your gaze,
like a moth drawn to flame,
twirling in the heat of our shared light.
My eyes are glued to yours,
like subtitles at a foreign film,
capturing every moment.
Your voice weaves through me,
like the cry of a violin,
finding my soul’s deepest places.
Like crème brûlée on my tongue,
your kisses make me crave more.
And your love—soft as silk and bright as roses—
is a sweet mark left on my heart.
— Poetic Rizz
Original Poem
I fly into your eyes
like a moth skirts
another dance around the
perimeter of torch flames
like on subtitles
at foreign matinees, my eyes
on yours are spellbound
like the pleading of crying violins
your voice finds the path
to my deepest soul
like crème brûlée lingering
on my tongue, I want to
taste more of your kisses
...and your love, like
soft on silk,
red on roses
and sweet on youth
leaves its permanence
upon my heart
