Forever in Your Eyes
by Poetic Rizz
Original poem "Amoroso" by Aubrey Keith Wilhoite
Poetry Now Version
We’ve scaled the highest peaks,
to feel the eagle's grace,
Roamed the valleys below,
where crystal waters embrace.
We’ve strolled through towering greens,
and wildflowers that sway,
They stand like noble royalty,
in nature’s grand display.
The goldfinch and her kin,
share kisses just like ours,
In morning light and evening glow,
they sing of love’s sweet hours.
I look back at all we've seen,
grateful you were by my side,
To hold you close and see you shine,
like stars in the sky so wide.
If tomorrow holds my promise,
it will be to forever gaze into your eyes,
And dance with you forever,
in a land with no good-byes.

Original Poem
We have climbed the tall blue mountain,
to touch the eagle's wing,
Trekked the valley far below them,
to drink from crystal springs,
We have walked among the tall grasses,
through wildflowers we were lead,
They stood like noble kings and queens,
with crowns upon their heads,
The goldfinch and her family,
they kiss like you and I,
In the morning and come the evening,
they sing sweet lullabies,
I look back across the seasons,
thankful you were there,
To have wrapped my arms around you,
put ribbons in your hair,
If tomorrow holds my promise,
it will be to forever gaze into your eyes,
And dance with you forever,
in a land with no good-byes.
